WHAT IS GYROTONIC?
The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a holistic approach to exercise in three-dimensional patterns. The exercises are based on an expanding series of fluid circular and spiral movements, with adjustable resistance and synchronized breathing patterns, all seamlessly working the musculature, cardiovascular and neurologic systems simultaneously.
I was introduced to The GYROTONIC Method to help manage increasing disability due to a progressive neurological condition. I can’t say enough good things about Gyrotonic and my teacher Dominique. Practicing Gyrotonic exercises weekly has reduced spasticity related discomfort while improving my overall balance and flexibility.

WHY I TEACH THE
GYROTONIC METHOD
- It’s more than just a form of exercise!
- With practice and patience, it’s possible to reverse chronic pain.
- I find great joy in witnessing others learn how to heal themselves.
“Uncertainty is where things happen. It is where the opportunities — for success, for happiness, for really living — are waiting.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO CAN DO GYROTONIC?
Gyrotonic exercises are highly adaptable making them accessible to everyone regardless of age or physical ability including those with disabilities to professional athletes.
HOW DO THE EXERCISES WORK?
Gyrotonic methodology utilizes a smooth, pulley and weight resistance system which prevents jarring start and stop movements creating a flowing rhythm as if you were supported in water. The 360 degree range of motion, in all dimensions, allows full articulation of stabilized joints and develops flexibility and strength. All major muscle groups are worked interdependently with the use of corresponding breathing patterns. This is a complete system of movement that originates from the spine and follows the natural energy lines in the body.
HOW MANY CLASSES ARE RECOMMENDED TO SEE RESULTS?
I typically suggest taking classes 2-3x/week to notice significant progress.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Wear comfortable clothes that allow for ease of movement, and clean socks are required.
WHY IS SPIRALING MOTION IMPORTANT?
We are designed to take advantage of the rotational nature of our body. The exercises are performed in undulating, spiraling and circular movements that help release stiffness and increase range of motion in the joints while building muscular, tendon and ligament connections. Gyrotonic movements support natural body mechanics to awaken the entire nervous system, stimulate and massage internal organs, and revitalize available energy.
